Methodology
Our methodology can be broken down into 3 main sections.
A. EMPIRICAL FIELDWORK
Date: 22 June 2015 (Sunday)
Time: 0800 - 2200 HRS We went down to Bishan-AMK Park on a Sunday, as park usage is significantly higher on weekends. This allows us to gather more robust and varied data for analysis. We planned for our fieldwork to span the entire day (8am - 10pm) to ensure that the data collected would capture temporal changes and patterns. For our fieldwork, we planned 4 main means of collecting data that would inform our subsequent analysis: 1. Environmental Data Collection 2. Park User Count 3. Site Photos and Videos 4. Survey |

A2. Park User Count
Method
- Park split into three main sections across its length (black, red, blue)
- Each section allocated 10 points along footpaths
- At each point, the number of persons passing by in a span of 10 minutes is counted
- Process repeated for three time periods: morning (0800-1200), afternoon (1200-1600), night (1600-2000)
Output
- Rough quantified distribution of park users across the park, and across the span of a single day.
